How Many Teeth Do Kids Have
In all, kids have 20 baby teeth – 10 on the top and 10 on the floor. These teeth act as placeholders for the adult teeth that grow in following the baby teeth fall out. Bear in mind that just as these teeth are destined to drop out, does not mean that they should not be cared for the same way that adult teeth are cared for. Creating healthy eating and brushing habits should start shortly after your child starts teething. At about age six most kids start to lose their baby teeth, which are subsequently replaced with adult teeth. This process will continue in their early teens.
Adults have more teeth than children; many adults have 32 teeth. One of these teeth are 8 incisors, 4 canines, 8 premolars, and 12 molars (such as 4 wisdom teeth). Most people have a whole set of adult teeth by the time they reach their teenage years. It’s not uncommon for adults to have their wisdom teeth removed because there isn’t always enough space for them to grow in comfortably or without causing misalignment of different teeth.
